Myofascial Release Technique from Your Plantation Chiropractor
Myofascial release technique (MRT) is a soft tissue treatment that allows for the release and breakdown of scar tissue in muscles, fascia and ligaments. We provide MRT in our Plantation Chiropractic office when appropriate. This method coupled with the action of a muscle helps provide elongation of the muscle fibers through all their phases of motion. This produces an increase in blood flow to help the healing process and increase overall range of motion. This treatment is offered at Stumpff Chiropractic in Plantation, Florida.

Myofascial release technique is used to help break up scar tissue after an injury. The scar tissue, known as adhesions in the fascia, can entrap muscles, tendons ligaments and nerves. This entrapment can lead to decrease range of motion leading to symtoms such as numbness down the arm or leg, weakness, reduced function and pain. Overuse injuries such as tennis elbow, impingement syndrome, or patellar tendonitis. These injuries lead to small tears known as microtrama that lead to decreased range of motion and formation of adhesions.
